New solution for electronic commerce and EDI.

ACTIMUM has developed a new solution for the electronic exchanges. This solution is based on a new descriptive formalism for scenarios which is :

• directly comprehensible and usable by non data processing specialists (business men)
• directly interpretable by a computer.

Implementation of this solution, and process of business scenarios are very simple.

The solution can also be used only in managing the dynamic sequence of messages (XML, EDIFACT or others) with controls inter-messages moreover.

The solution fulfils requirements of open-edi (cf. ISO/IEC JTC1 14662) and ebXML experts. It relates with multi-formats exchanges between multiple actors. It is a real implementation of open-edi in the broad sense including electronic commerce. It brings moreover answer to question raised and not yet solved satisfactory :

• scenario granularity,
• combination of scenarios,
• sectorial and intersectorial scenarios,
• scenario registration...

The solution can implement various manners :

• exchanges between two or several actors without intermediary,
• exchanges through VAN,
• in "traditional EDI" or in "internet environment", with application to application liaisons, but also application to individual, and individual to individual,
• or a combination of these various exchanges,
• a traditional programming language could be used but JAVA or "JAVA like" programming makes the solution simpler and more flexible and will accelerate its penetration.

The range of service brought by this solution and its implementation possibilities confer a strong interest to him. The main issues are economic, human and cultural.

By the way, this solution gives opportunities to develop new services to facilitate the exchanges (content oriented services).
